Westeria sets standards in sustainability!

In November 2022, we launched a photovoltaic system and now it’s time for an initial assessment. Our PV installation covers the entire roof of our company. Given the global warming challenge, solar energy offers a genuine alternative to conventional energy production by significantly reducing CO2 emissions. Since the installation of our PV system, we have already saved an impressive 159 metric tons of CO² by generating 90% of our energy on-site. It’s a significant step towards a sustainable future.

However, our aim is to reduce energy consumption across the board. We implement efficient measures such as using timers to reliably switch off all screens in the company at the end of the workday or employing a new laser for metal processing that operates much more energy efficiently compared to the previous standard. Additionally, we have achieved a 15% reduction in natural gas usage through compressor retrofitting and the utilization of a geothermal heat pump for our newly constructed office spaces in 2021. But that’s not all – in the future, we plan to utilize the waste heat from our compressors to heat the drying chamber in our painting line.
